Two-days Poem
Dawning shades the mornstar's light;
a meadowlark adieus the night
Behold this day through darkness falling
Eternal Lover's voice is calling
Our Father's words drip timeless, ringing,
Take to life your love , go singing
'Bout peace amidst blue Milky Way
And hang on to just one more day
Mankind waking, some still sleep;
time is shallow, life is deep
Natural order, freedom, chaos;
some are laughing, many weep
Mother Nature's hide and seek;
Shame on man; cosmic leak
Conditional resource, machine now failing;
soul is empty, spiritual sailing
Parents, children, cousins, others...,
all together, so alone
Fatty tissues to the future,
ancestral blood turned to stone
Teachers, preachers, learners, burners,
seasons, reasons...,
vast unknown
Earthly schemes, celestial dream,
paradise..., oblivion?
No matter what, fall asleep;
only God your soul can keep
Our dreams aglow traverse this night
Then dawning shades the mornstars light
Be Ye Not
Be ye not too burdened 'bout the ones so rich; so free
Nor saddened o'er souls imprisoned in their tragic poverty
And keep from being maddened by those few who've claimed a throne
Pronouncing they are better than
the rest who are unknown
And, if you be a woman who, by God, was made of man
Not forever will his reigning bid you kiss his feet and hands
That happened only once...,I've heard
Since then, women bore all men
And they bear the pains that men create
in wars no one can win
So, be yourself, have no cause, no want to be another
'Less you hurt in vein against your grain
As father, child or mother
Those wise and good amongst us said,
"all arguments will cease"
And, "the least of you is greatest while the greatest is the least"
First Time Defined
Before 'Time' was Space
Suddenly this human race
'Tho time needs space,
Space needs not time
They both exist without us
But we make it all rhyme
That in a nutshell is what there is to say...,
No, wait, my mind's expanding
Into another day
Alas, 'tis LOVE,
Always was, IS, and Ever shall it be
Time is a glimpse of, and
Life is a commercial,
An ad for eternity
Swimm'n Hole
Almost dawning, one last dream
Image trickles down the stream
Childhood sunshine warms my soul
Laughter!, Splash'n! Swimm'n hole!
Rock formation 'neath bare feet
Bodies tanning, Summer's heat
Friendly faces, reflecting mazes
Picnic, shady trees
Peanut-butter/jelly sandwich
Ants and flies and bees?
Upstream, downstream, crawdad hole
Where'd I leave my fish'n pole?
Heh! you dogs, get out the water
Oh!, down there, looks like a quarter
Ouch! the pavement is so hot
Quick! get to that shady spot
Wish the store was more handy
Two-bits buys a lot of candy
Race ya back, last one's a mole
Jump'n in the swimm'n hole
Betcha can't, c'mon I dare ya
Jump off that there ledge above ya
Kersplashhh!, bubbles!, sparkles, fresh air
Blue sky, dawning... dream is over !>
DeeDee, Shesa Talka
Dee Dee was dad's ma, brokey English she'sa spoke
When she talka to ussa kids, wassa sounds like one joke
But her words proved quite wise 'bout this and of that
"Who don' supporta da cat, who he issa supporta da rat!"
We'd listen all night, maybe sleep until noon
"Watsa matta, you sella the sun forda moon?"
We kids might be good or "rascala" too
Then she would say. " I feexa you!"
Well, she came to this country on one greata big "boot"
Was witta da fist lady who casta da voote
Dad got her a phone, she'd call around two
"Hello?, issa me..., datta one issa you?"
An' she baked inna da "huv", some wooda choppy down
She planta inna da "gard'", the seeda sticky down
She walka to Poost Offica, God maka da strong feet
She wassa paya da tax so she'sa walk onna da street
Dee Dee told us kids, "don' be shtupido,
Taka witta you alla somating you shoulda know"
Whenna rainy comma down, da cold'sa no catcha you
Sticky da pape' downa inna you shoe
Washy you face, comby downa da hair
Keep cleana da house an' makey you prayer
Respecta da olda ones, listena, please
I'mma know..., you wassa maka me tease
Whatta you mada harda for me, your kidda do to you
"'Membera, I wassa tolla you dissa was true"
We all loved Dee Dee, SHE knew where it's at
Now my kids go to school, but
Dey talka justa lika dat!

Time Revisited
Time is a note in a bottle
Sailing and endless cosmic sea
From the lover's heart the message drifts
Forever to find thee
Where space be within and as much be without
There's an island in light and dark
Where dreams are born 'bout a new days morn
And the journey awaits on an ark
With yesterday's way we cannot stay
Time gone is not there to borrow
Tomorrow's a wife, the rest of your life
The tide kisses the shore with the bottle
And because of His note, the poet wrote
A Thanks for you and me
As the words are unsealed
Truth is revealed
Here comes eternity
This Mountain
Forde linears stained with greed and waste,
rivers leaves a bitter taste, whose eddies
trap the children since passed played
this bridge to winding road, then path, unbeaten,
leaves behind such wrath, soon dancing,
before I rest, reciprocate
Here, mountain o'er the smog of days, above
tradition's acted plays, small challenge
volunteer or send a learner from each town
upward slow with instinct know,
essence lures, inertia..., go, twice sold, these breathe;
The going up, the Being There, the coming down
gain strength from subtley, not load,
to zenith..., pray a receiving mode,
new mind opens to realizations;
a gentle breeze upon the temporal lobe
questions?, answers simply, life is love and
because of this, you are alone, In the mirror
time is shortened, find help..., please don't go
Higher mind must cry the lonely, war, starvation,
"Who's to blame"; Father coming with a frown?
"No one loved me..., scared, I never knew",
Look up there, the peak...,let me sneak this kiss on yer cheek
I pointed out the mountain, up and There and down
alas, hoped you 'dancing', throw in 'singing', but
most likely, you'll sing and dance right back,
to your stupid-ass, little town
The Unbelieving One
World not flat, years from that and man no longer bound
"Circle game", their north star's aim, thank God our dreams aren't round
Earth and time an island form 'yond mist o' light and dark
The lesser force knows not this course, come sailing on His ark
Vessel sets for sensual sea..., pirates prize the helm from thee
Raging waters, O soul's despair ...,"Imagination" be thy fare
Tradewinds sailors, shipsmast nailers; first-mate sacrificed
Swallowed up, an extra cup. Alas!, existence is enticed
Cosmic ocean deep and yet when measured next to dreams
'Twas payed, the cost, for those felt lost; Come, 'scape now from such schemes
Thieves and murderers, forgiven them; obviously, "know not what they've done"
Cast overboard, forever lost..., the unbelieving one
An' I but just a cabin boy, to wit, I pays da rent
The 'course's plot' onda cappin's desk saw I..., we mus' repent
Come..., taste the drink left in the cup; 'sure his wounds you know
Twixt us and 'tween and paradise, the first-mate calls, "Land Ho!"
Seen or not all things are given, and we but asked of, two,
My death of sin, redeem me please, my taste this message through
Hey, it's funny, I hear music, so serious got me..., aye
Choices heard are journeys spared and songs 'bout sea or land or sky
Offspring unto the Autumn us, seasonal seeds abide
Father comes before the son, embrace the changing tide
Count these lines and sleep me by, "til all the works is done
And standing midst 'we loved ones' naught, an unbelieving one
Yea!, I say, did catch a ship n'er come in; by wading out half way
Behind my bones on horseback rise..., good reason for today
"Til pure and clean this watery scene; I got my hair wet too
Breath of sparkley, hope o' life..., green on the river you?
Perfection was, choice was whose...?, 'forever' cries at you
Beyond all self, great love surrounds, the one begat of two
Stagnant waters hold sickly shadows , come sailing to the son
And, "Thanks!", for the tale or what, an unbelieving one?
Mouse Inda House
Ders a mouse innda house, he ain't pay'n no rent
So I tells 'em ta git out!
But up on his little hind feet he squeaks,
"C'mon I'll go ya a bout!"
So quickly sets the trap does I
He thinks to mess wit me
In da morn'n I hurry to gloat o'er me catch
But I'm short one piece of brie
Sooo, I tries a little peanut butter
Now let 'em take his chance
Darn, he let it be, ders small pools o' pee
'Round da trap wit a long line of ants
And ders holes innda walls, da oven stinks
The pantry has all been messed
By da looks of the gourmet foods that are gone
He's bin hav'n in some guests
Well, I'm call'n on da cat today
If he'll git up from where he lay
An' I pound onnda wall an' shout, "it's over, now!"
'Twas hours before dat mouse ran past
But I tell ya, boy, dat cat is fast
He licks his chops and I jus' takes me bow
Now I got some time to garden
'Round our little country home
Where da slugs an da bugs an' da gophers play
And da local deer come roam
But at night, da house is peaceful
For nigh onto a week
Then 'round about the twentieth day
I hears this little "sqeuak"
An' inna day or two, they're scratch'n da walls
Innda ceiling I hear tiny feet
I guess when dat other mouse had guests
They did lots more tings than eat
'Cause der stand'n right up on der little hind feet
Must be a dozen new
They's squak'n to me dat life goes on
An' "We's come ta play round two!"
I's glad it does, deys kinda cute
In a way it's all kinda witty
Now I don't hasta feel so bad,
"Here kitty, kitty, kitty...."
